Leif is a recurring special character in the Animal Crossing series. He's a friendly, nature-loving sloth who runs a gardening shop.
He first appeared in Animal Crossing: New Leaf where he initially offered to help with public works projects related to landscaping, such as planting trees and flowers. He later set up shop in the town plaza.
In Animal Crossing: New Horizons, Leif visits the player's island as a traveling vendor. He sells flower and shrub starts, as well as different colored produce starts (like carrots and tomatoes) not native to the island. He also buys weeds from the player at a higher price than Nook's Cranny.
Leif is characterized by his calm demeanor and passion for plants. He's easily recognized by his green fur and a leaf permanently stuck to his head.
